SKETCHBOOK 17
To you, 10 years from now:
I am a first-year Industrial Design student, learning to sketch and problem-solve. These early pages from my sketchbook, though imperfect, represent a crucial insight: starting is everything.
Sketching is more than drawing; it's a direct conversation with an idea. It allows rapid concept exploration, training your eye to see form and detail. As a low-fidelity prototyping tool, it enables quick iteration and constant learning.
Remember there is only one way to learn, it is through action. Keep sketching and trust the process. Everything you need can be learned by doing, by jumping into the unknown and learning within the chaos of uncertainty – that is where true magic lies.
I hope these pages remind you of where it all began: a blank page and the courage to make a mark. Here's to putting pen to paper, trusting the journey, and never stopping.
In ten years, I hope you've made somthing beautiful.
- A hopeful first-year.
